As restaurants begin to re-open with the city, the health department is cracking down on establishments violating newly enforced health conditions.

She loar learned more about the violations from the the alabama department op public health.

>> the health department said each restaurant's license was quickly reinstated after they fixed the violation and told me they're currently investigating another violation at a restaurant here in madison county.

You know, 99.9% of the businesses are there because they want to protect their employees.

They want to protect their customers.

And if they're able to do that and we can work safely then we've done what we're supposed to do.

The alabama department of public health environmental health division that investigates possible violations said an inspector responds to any valid complaint.

And it's sent through the chain of command and the legal department decides the necessary action for the violation.

Businesses like the five in madison county caught violating the health order, food permit suspended.

If it's suspended you cannot operate until you're back in compliance.

The situation was corrected in writing and receive a follow-up visit from the health department.

The city is not involved in that process and complaints brought to its attention goes through the city's legal department.

Mayor battle made this suggestion to anyone who doesn't feel safe or believes a restaurant is violating the health order.

>> now, both the health department and city of huntsville told me they're investigating another violation tonight.

It's unclear if the same restaurant that they're investigating but they said the violation has to do with employees not wearing face masks which is required under the health order.

Now, the agency is saying what business but we're working to learn more about the investigation.
