Chico Police: Wrong-way driver crashes stolen car

Chico Police said they arrested a woman after she stole a car then led officers on a wrong-way pursuit on Highway 99.

Car pursuit... involving a wrong way driver... ends in a crash on highway 99 south of chico.

The pursuit ended in the southbound lanes of the highway... about a mile north of durham-pentz road.

Brandon benitiz is live with the rest of the story... it was a joint effort between chico p-d and chp... i spoke to todd lekowitz who's the traffic sergeant with chico p-d... he said dispatch received a call at 12:15 in the afternoon on a reported stolen vehicle... it happened at the matador hotel... victim tried stopping the suspect who's a woman that lefokowitz says will remain unknown... stolen car was a white honda c-r- v... the suspect 'bumped' into the owner with the car but i was told she didn't sustain serious injuries... chico p-d started receiving calls from drivers on 99 regarding a vehicle driving in opposite directions of the road... it all happened a mile before the durham-pentz road exit if you're driving southbound... eventually chico p-d made the arrest with just the two cars involved in the crash.
