Chico barbershop owner arrested on suspicion of assault and attempted rape, police say

The owner of Gearhead Barbershop was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and assault Thursday morning, according to the Chico Police Department's crime portal.

Last week -- gearhead barbershop in chico was making headlines by reopening during the stay at home orders& now just a few days later--- the owner joseph eidem is at the middle of a police investigation.

The 47-year old was arrested this morning on attempted rape and assault charges.

Now as you can see--- despite his arrest, the barbershop remains open and is filled with customers.

I talked to the co-owner just a few minutes ago he suspects fiané.

She says the accusations are absolutely false and they are working with their attorney.

As for the shop, she says they are unsure if they will remain open.

She is playing it by ear.
