Colleges across indiana are deciding on whether to bring students back on campus for the fall semester.purdue university president mitch daniels outlined how..and many may soon follow.fox 55's chris mullooly is live on purdue fort wayne's campus.chris... will purdue fort wayne students be following the same guidelines.hunter... we reached out to purdue fort wayne communications director..

He says right now... they're hopeful for a normal fall semester... president daniels at purdue... was more direct.

He says they're 'intending' to accept students...and more colleges could follow their lead.

Or a hybrid of online and seated...pre testing students and staff doing what we can as processes become available to track infections..

Possibly lowering sizes of gatherings of classroom instructionthey won't be the only ones....down in west lafayette..

Purdue president mitch daniels released a statement saying he intends on welcoming students back as well....going on to say 'at least 80 percent of our population is made up of young people... and while covid 19 transmits rapidly in this age group... it poses close to zero lethal threat to them'daniels outlines similar goals and policies trine university will implement to minimize contact...saying 'our students pose a far greater danger to others than the virus poses to them'."then just doing everything we can to maintain health and safety of community"for purdue fort wayne students... don't go running towards campus yet.

Geoff thomas..director of communications with purdue fort wayne in part saying they're hopeful... and will continue to follow every best practice to ensure the safety of our entire university community on and off campus.

All three universities in their statements saying officials will continue to follow federal state and local health guidelines..

As they transition to a 'new normal' for the fall semester.
