More help is on the way for small business owners, in the form of a grant being set up in cerro gordo county.

This grant program is called the north iowa small business recovery fund.

Local governments will be pitching in some cash to help small businesses impacted by the coronavirus.

Mason city is contributing 300 thousand dollars, while the clear lake and the county are each giving 100 thousand dollars.

Application process went live this morning on the north iowa corridor's website.

Chad schreck, head of the north iowa corridor economic development corporation, says businesses i would absolutely recommend getting your applications in when you're able so that we can review them and try to do that as expiditiously as possible because we know people need the funding now.

Applications are due on the 17th.

And they hope to have funds distributed to businesses by the 24th.
