Recovery Efforts Underway After Deadly Tornadoes

Sophia Borrelli was in Putnam County where recovery efforts are underway after a tornado tore through the area.

Neighbors here told me they're heart broken by the loss of life.

If you can imagine - this was once a neighborhood.

Now - almost every house on the street is leveled.

The belongings of families who live here are thrown about.

First responders and volunteers worked throughout the day - trying to pick up debris and the belongings of people who live here in these putnam county neighborhoods.

One woman i talked to today told me it was eerie waking up and seeing baby clothes in her yard and in her tree.

Today we learned 5 of the victims of these tornadoes were children.

The youngest was just 3 years old.

One man who grew up in this community says its one where everyone knows each other and he is saddened by the loss of his friends.

"those children lost their lives.

There are some friends up the road.

The curtis' i knew them.

We played football, baseball, and basketball.

It's just unreal."

Many crews and volunteers still out here working trying to get as much done as they can before the sun goes down.
