NATS: "We want Joe!" Ahead of his formal campaign launch Saturday, Joe Biden has managed to seemingly put to rest concerns about whether he's out of step with the Democratic party.
Just this week he responded to a jab by Alexandria Ocasio Cortez who attacked his middle of the road climate plan.
(SOUNDBITE) (ENGLISH) FORMER U.S. VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN SAYING: "I've never been middle of the road on climate.
And tell her to look at my record." And presidential strategists told Reuters that while they expect others to eventually become top contenders, that the perception among some voters that Biden may be a safer choice to take on Trump than a less-known politician- could also give him a boost.
Despite his strength in the first three weeks of his campaign some hurdles may still lie ahead.
The first comes next month when his competitors get a chance to take him on in the first of a dozen Democratic presidential debates.
