TIME-LAPSE VIDEO OF TIDE WASHING AWAY BEACH PORTRAIT OF WORLD WAR ONE POET, WILFRED OWEN STORY: A video captures how a sand portrait of World War One British poet and soldier Wilfred Owen is washed away on the beach.
Eyewitness Vera Yu made a time-lapse video of the tide erasing the face of Owen on Sunny Sands beach, Folkstone, England on Sunday (November 11).
The portrait was carved onto the sand to mark the centenary of Armistice Day.
The event was a part of a series of beach tributes entitled "Pages of the Sea" organised by British film director Danny Boyle and the 14-18 NOW arts programme to mark the centenary.
Ryan Shields, a resident of the South Australian resort town of Broome, captured this footage as the sands shifted along the beach at Entrance Point. Shields, who told Storyful he captured the footage..
