Former Officer Charged with Serious Sexual Offence

A former West Yorkshire Police officer has been charged with a serious sexual offence. 

Claudine Binns, 49, has been charged with sexual assault by penetration and is due to appear at Bradford Magistrates Court on 8 January. The charge relates to an off-duty offence. 

She was working as a detective inspector in Bradford district at the time of her arrest in May 2022 and was suspended from duty. She has since retired from West Yorkshire Police.
