Police investigating reports of a sexual assault and a serious assault in Cullompton are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of an altercation between a man and a group of people on Exeter Road, Cullompton, at around 3pm, on Thursday 25 November.

It was reported that a woman was sexually assaulted, and a man sustained a serious arm injury which required hospital treatment.

A man in his 40s, from the Cullompton area, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has been released on police bail to return on Friday 24 December, pending further enquiries.
