Police are seeking to identify a possible witness following reports of an assault in Cowick Street, Exeter. 

The incident was reported to police on Sunday 30 August at around 6.40pm and took place outside the Tesco store.

It was reported that a man had been pulled to the floor causing injury to his arms and wrists. A bladed weapon was also reported to have been seen at the scene.

A 23-year-old man from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of offences including assault and possessing an offensive weapon. He was later released on police bail until 23 September.

Investigating officers are appealing to identify a potential witness who may have information which could assist enquires. This potential witness is described as a white male, he was wearing a black coloured t-shirt and dark coloured shorts with tattoos on both his arms. Anyone who recognises this description or thinks this may be them, is asked to contact police on 101.
