Man dies after incident at sea, Teignmouth

A 22-year-old man died after being pulled from the sea at Teignmouth last night [26 May].

The man was operating a jet ski out at sea when he got into difficulty.

He was rescued from the water by the RNLI who notified police around 9.40pm.

Ambulance also attended and carried out CPR on the man.

He was taken to Torbay District Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The man was from High Wycombe. His next of kin has been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police are preparing a file for HM Coroner.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident to contact them via 101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting log 0877 26/05/20.
