Investigation launched following Plymouth death

Detectives investigating the death of a 49-year-old man who was discovered deceased on Beaumont Road on Friday 22 May have this evening, Monday 25 May, charged a man in connection with the death.

Simon Wotton, aged 43 and from Plymouth, has today been charged with Murder.

He will appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26 May.

A 24-year-old woman from Plymouth who had initially been arrested has today been released without charge.

Detectives from the Major Crime Team have also arrested a 40-year-old woman from Plymouth on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. She has been interviewed at Charles Cross police station and released on police bail.
