It was launched as an imprint of Cash Money Records — a joint venture colloquially branded as Young Money Cash Money Billionaires — and Republic Records until 2018; it has since operated as an imprint of Republic. Wayne's longtime affiliate, rapper Mack Maine, was appointed the company's president in 2009.
