Michael Andrew Gove is a British Conservative Party politician serving as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since 2017, and as Member of Parliament (MP) for Surrey Heath since 2005. Gove served in the Cameron Government as Secretary of State for Education from 2010 to 2014 and Secretary of State for Justice from 2015 to 2016. He has twice run to become Leader of the Conservative Party, in 2016 and 2019, finishing in third place on both occasions.
