U.S. President Donald Trump has ignited a political firestorm by accusing the Democratic Party of committing “fraud” during the 2024 election campaign.
In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed that Democrats paid millions to celebrities for endorsements—an act he called “totally illegal.” He alleged $11 million was funneled to Beyoncé, $3 million to Oprah Winfrey, and $600,000 to Reverend Al Sharpton.
Trump emphasized that none of the celebrities performed or contributed meaningfully, calling it a misuse of campaign funds and accusing them of falsifying financial records.
He concluded with a demand for the prosecution of Vice President Kamala Harris and others “who broke the law.” Trump's latest explosive allegations have reignited debates on the legality of political endorsements, celebrity influence in elections, and campaign financing ethics.
His claims, if proven, could carry legal and electoral consequences.
The White House and Democratic Party are yet to respond.
