Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has launched a scathing attack on French President Emmanuel Macron and German opposition leader Friedrich Merz, accusing them of attempting to revive Europe's imperialist past.
Speaking at a diplomatic event, Lavrov warned that Western leaders were reverting to their “former instincts” of conquest and domination, drawing chilling comparisons between today’s political climate and Nazi-era atrocities.
He further stated that “German and Ukrainian Nazis are united by their attitudes toward those they want to enslave,” claiming that just as some “burned Jews,” others now “burn Russians.” Lavrov’s remarks come amid intensifying tensions between Moscow and the West over the war in Ukraine, NATO expansion, and growing European militarization.
