Actor Charley Scalies dies at 84.

Best known for his roles in HBO's The Wire and The Sopranos , actor Charley Scalies has charmed audiences with his many on-screen performances for more than 30 years.

He starred in all 12 episodes of The Wire 's second season, portraying Thomas "Horseface" Pakusa.

He returned to the network just a year later to star in the fifth season of The Sopranos for an episode , portraying Coach Molinaro, Tony's high school football coach, in a dream sequence.

He passed away on Thursday at a Phoenixville, Pennsylvania nursing facility after battling Alzheimer's for many years.

His death was confirmed in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter by daughter Anne Marie Scalies.

Derek Jeter awarded honorary degree from the University of Michigan more than 30 years after enrolling as a student.

The MLB Hall of Famer delivered the University of Michigan's 2025 Spring Commencement address on Saturday, simultaneously receiving an honorary Doctor of Laws degree 33 years after he first enrolled at the school.

Shortly after enrolling in 1992, Jeter withdrew from the UMich after being drafted sixth overall by the New York Yankees.

He went on to make his Major League debut in 1995 and never returned to finish his degree.

In his address to students, Jeter spoke of the importance of choices in your life, reflecting on how his own choices impacted his career, saying 'How you approached today, and every day, is a choice -- your choice.

Your life will ultimately be framed by the choices you make.'
