Nominations for the 78th annual Tony Awards were revealed this morning by former winners Sarah Paulson and Wendell Pierce.
The star-studded lineup of nominees includes a handful of first-timers, as well as a record breaking nomination for Audra McDonald.
McDonald, who is currently starring in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Gypsy , earned her 11th career nomination, the most of any Broadway performer in history.
Joining McDonald in the Best Leading Actress in a Musical category is Nicole Scherzinger, who is starring in the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Blvd.
The category also includes first-time nominee Jasmine Amy Rogers, who is making her Broadway debut in BOOP!
The Musical , and Death Becomes Her co-leads Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard.
Hollywood legend George Clooney also earned a nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Play for his role in Good Night, and Good Luck , while actress Sadie Sink was also recognized for her leading role in a play, earning a nomination for John Proctor is the Villain .
Jonathan Groff, who won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical at last year's ceremony, is once again recognized in the category for Just in Time .
He is joined by actors Darren Criss, Jeremy Jordan, James Monroe Iglehart, Tom Francis, and Andrew Durand.
Notable snubs include Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal who are currently starring in Othello , Idina Menzel for Redwood , Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren in The Last Five Years , Robert Downey Jr. who starred in McNeal , and Kieran Culkin and Bill Burr for Glengarry Glen Ross .
Marisa Tomei and Rachel Zegler to star as mother and daughter in new comedy film She Gets It From Me.
The duo was announced by U.K.-based production company Embankment Films on Wednesday along with details of the film's plot.
Directed by German filmmaker Julia von Heinz, She Gets It From Me will follow the true story of an estranged mother and daughter's journey to reconnect, the official synopsis reading 'YouTube is packed with tearful family reunions, but nobody films the messy aftermath.'
The script will be written by Tony Award-winner Jay Reiss, with 3311 Productions and Seven Elephants' Anna Werner signed on to produce.
