The head of the Wagner Mercenary Group…Yevgeny Prigozhin…had been involved in a major stand-off with Vladimir Putin.
This dreaded ensemble of fighters has been at the forefront of the Bloody conflict against Ukraine..fighting alongside the Russian forces.
Russia had even issued an arrest warrant for Prigozhin..and the mutiny seemed to have openly challenged the authority of Putin.
But the insurrection has quickly been nipped in the bud.
