Rafiq: Abuse from exposing racism made family leave country

Azeem Rafiq says he and his family were forced to leave the country because of death threats, as well as a number of targetted attacks at his family home, ever since he exposed institutional racism in cricket.

But the former Yorkshire cricketer says despite the difficulties "on an individual basis", "the cost of being silent was a lot more".

It comes as the Mr Rafiq is due to give a new testimony on racism in cricket before the Digital, Culture, Media & Sport select committee in Westminster today.
