I had a pretty poor night of sleep (the worst I have had in a while), on the original day I was planning to do this, so I decided to postpone the session, get a better night's rest, and try it the following day.
I managed to sleep fairly well, and energy was feeling decent; however my form, particularly overall stability, and when coming out of the hole, just felt off today.
I was really hoping to hit five reps, which would have been a PR, but that fourth rep was such a total grinder, that I decided to call it there.
When comparing this set to the last time I did 4 reps with this, I do think my performance is overall better this time, despite the shortcomings (overall depth, and speed, particularly on the first rep or two, etc).
I could have just felt a little off from my schedule being all out of whack from the last couple weeks, and having a larger gap in between squatting, combined with accumulated fatigue.
I feel pretty confident that I could grind out five on a better day/state.
So overall, I am not disappointed!
I'll get it soon enough 🤟🏻.
I will probably dial down my training max for squatting from here, to help lessen stress and fatigue, and focus on pushing deadlifts a bit more.
