Today is the 8th anniversary of formation of the youngest state of India.
8 years back, on this very day, a new constituent was added to the federal structure of Indian polity.
It became the 29th state in 2014 but currently is regarded as 28th state because Jammu and Kashmir was made a Union Territory in 2019.
