Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi disagrees with fresh calls to outlaw parents smacking children, saying there is a "very big difference" between a "light smack on the arm and child abuse".
He warns there is a "danger" that the state will be "nannying" parents when discipline should be "left to the parents".
