The video shows the head of Ukraine's second-largest party Viktor Medvedchuk asking presidents Putin and Zelensky to exchange him for “fighters and civilians of Mariupol" - a city mostly overtaken by Russian forces.
Medvedchuk was arrested by the Ukrainian security service last week after breaking his house arrest terms, imposed alongside charges of treason.
In Russia, the reaction to the idea of swapping Medvedchuk for prisoners of war has been mixed, since the politician is neither a Russian citizen nor a combatant.
