4 Cats Killed in Evansville House Fire

Several pets were killed in a Thursday morning house fire on Weinbach Avenue in Evansville, according to the Evansville Fire Department.

At this hour... new at noon..... an early morning fire kills four pets at a home on the 14-hundred block of weinbach avenue.... the call came in around 5:50 this morning - about a structure fire that started in the basement bedroom.... there was five people in the house at the time*including several animals.... officials tell us - no persons were injured - but two dogs are being treated - while four cats have died... the cause of the fire was electrical in nature - but efd is investigating what led to the blaze...
