Kicking off spring with some new exhibits and events.

News 18's micah upshaw joins us in the studio this morning.

Micah what can visitors expect?

Visitors can expect music, animal- interaction, art and other family-friendly activities.

And you'll also be able to get up close and personal with some animals.

The x-zoo-berance event launched march 25th and will continue through april 11th.

From 10 a-m to 4 p-m thursday through sunday -- people will be able touch the sharks, feed giraffes and feed different birds.

The x-zoo-berance event also includes hearing live music and viewing art.

The zoo is also launching its butterfly kaleidoscope exhibit.

You'll be able to observe thousands of different butterfly species -- and sometimes they'll event land on you.

And the zoo is introducing some new zoo-babies including four-month-old giraffe named kendi.

Some of our animals have been indoors for the winter time and that's something that's typical year after year.

Once those animals come outside again when spring time comes you're going to see that they're going to be active and really exploring their habitat.

And there's more to look forward too because the zoo is opening a new reptile exhibit later this spring.

It's called alligators and crocodiles: the fight to survive.

To ensure you'll have access to these events -- you'll want to purchase your ticket online before you arrive.

The zoo is limiting capacity to help practice social distancing.

You can find the ticket link on our website wlfi.com.
