Emergency crews ready as storms move across Decatur on Wednesday

Reporter: i'm at decatur high school, one of the many storm shelters in the area and that is until a tornado watch is in effect.

For now, emergency crews are on stand by.

Decatur utility says it has been monitoring the system for several days and equipment is prepared.

And it includes lines to help restore power.

Decatur utility says they have a plan together and are ready to respond as soon as things start happening.

Really until they hit and we see where damage is done and outages occur, they're ready to roll with a moment's notice.

Reporter: now there a crew on stand-by overnight if the storm continues into the early morning hours.
