
Madisonville Man Dies From Late Monday Night Fire

--- following a first tonight at 6-- a kentucky community is mourning --- following a house fire -- in hopkins county.

The fire-- ripped through the home-- burning for several minutes before firefighters arrived... chief western kentucky bureau reporter erran huber joins us here at six with what we know so far..
In monday's early evening hours-- a neighbor in madisonville with a watchful eye called emergency services-- when they say a nearby house went up in flames.
Crews from both madisonville fire and police sped to the scene-- where they found a home on east mclaughlin avenue burning.
But once they were able to get the fire under control-- they made a grim discovery.
"once they made entry to extinguish the fire, they did come across a victim.
They extricated the victim from the residence.
Unfortunately the victim was deceased."
The man inside was pronounced dead*at the scen* he was later identified as 67 year old john murphy porter.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation eh 44news developing
