This indictment is a result of a more than two year investigation.

Now former athens city schools superintendent trey holladay is facing more than 100 counts of fraud alone.

Along with holladay -- are charges against his wife and former limestone county superintendent tom sisk.

Four others are also listed in this indictment.

All six listed are charged with consipiracy!

This alleged scheme involves athens renaissaince school.

It claims student information from private schools around the state were used to list them as virtual students within athens renaissance school.

This allowed the district to obatain more funding.

It also claims the defendants took some of the increased revenue for thier own personal use.

This took place from 2016 -to 2018.

The indictment should send the message that those who steal from our children - you will be caught, you will be charged, and you will be prosecuted.

Trey holladay was fired from athens city schools in october.

He was placed on administrative leave in june of 2020 after the f-b-i raided his home as part of this investigation.

Sisk left limestone co schools in september 2019 for a job in bristol tennessee.

He has since left that job.
