High School Hoops Resume In Kentucky

Teams in the new year represents a new beginning..

For basketball teams in kentucky..

It also means the chance to finally start their season after the khsaa pushed back the start of the new campaign.

I spoke with both the boys and girls teams at henderson county earlier about finally getting back on the court.

After a stoppage of play in november by the khsaa that paused winter sports including basketball, this week marks the return of high school basketball in the commonwealth.

We're just looking forward to getting back on the floor.

We're looking forward to working with these kids every day.

That's what we like to do and that's what we are here for to try to make them better, make us better as a team, have some fun and try to get some wins under our belt.

But, we're starting a little slow right now, we didn't get to start until this monday we're a little behind, but we're going to keep working and hopefully be ready for our game next tuesday.

It's great, like i missed it a lot and i think everybody else has to so when we came back to practice everybody has been going as hard as they can just to get ready for next week, our first game.

Though they were not practicing together in person, athletes were still responsible for staying in shape at home.

Curry- we were doing the google meet s but on top of that i was running and i was going to play basketball at the y in evansville and just doing different stuff to stay in shape and stay in basketball shape.

I just kept working on my game everyday and getting better and didn't stop what i was doing and the team didn't stop what they were doing we all kept connected and worked together.

We did individual workouts on our own trying to get better and improving what we need to work on.

The pause of basketball served as a reminder that every game and practice must be enjoyed in these unprecedented times.

The realized probably now more than ever that life is not fair, it's just not.
