The Clinton Chamber of Commerce and the Local Merchants of the Village created Clinton's Late Night Fridays as a way for the community to visit their favorite shops.

With clinton's late night fridays.

Newschannel2's chelsea sherrod reports.

(nats( maggie morse (not on cam): if you can shop small and shop local you're helping your community grow.

Giving local businesses a boost .

None .

None rebecca: late night fridays in clinton started to kind boost small business in the area and get people in here for the holidays, supporting local, staying away from the box stores.

The clinton chamber of commerce and the local merchants of the village created clinton's late night fridays as a way for the community to visit their favorite shops after hours.

Vendors like baby cakes by becca were able to use open spaces as a pop-up shop to promote business during a tough year.

Rebecca: so the pandemic has had a huge impact on my business.

I was stocking at a couple other businesses in the area but once everything shut down it made that a little more difficult being a third-party vendor.

So i started doing a lot of weekly orders and luckly i was able to get a lot of word of mouth from that and some new customers.

While looking out for one another.

Rebecca: i wanted to make sure to bring another small business owner so i brought in maggie morse from unremorseful art.

She's got a ton of coll hand-painted jackets, shoes, canvas, she's taking custom orders.

Maggie: one of my biggest things are painted jackets.

I've been in a couple different fashion shows.

This one is one of my favorites, it's a moth.

It's done with acrylic paint and fabric paint so it's not going anywhere.

Chelsea: and you might be able to catch some throughout the weekend.

Rebecca: i'm also here tomorrow 8-3 and sunday 10-3.

Typically i work out of my home.

I can't tell you how many people just walked by and came in and they were like 'who are you?', 'i've never heard of you before' , 'what are you selling?', 'this is great, this is so awesome for our community'.

So it has been huge.

Chelsea: reporting in clinton, i'm chelsea sherrod newschannel2.
