LawCall: Shopping Injuries

So we're going to start off talking about holiday shopping.

I can't believe black friday is friday.

Hopefully the internet shopping has reduced the number of injuries and accidents that happen.

You guys do personal injury cases.

We still have these problems, right, with people shopping michael timberlake: you never know what is going to happen.

Especially when dealing with retail stores, and some are better than others in terms of what they provide and in terms of customer safety.

You know, the main thing that i tell people all the time is, look, you know, simply because you are not -- you are somebody else's property doesn't mean they are automatically responsible for your injuries.

But what we see is a lot of times that, you know, the stores don't do what they should do or the businesses don't do what they should do in order to provide safety for their customers.

Either, you know, it can be leaving things out in the aisle where people will get hurt by them, or stacking things inappropriately, or other types of things.

You know, water, liquid, you know, other things that are out in the aisle where people get hurt.

We see people hurt with slip and falls, you know, head injuries are bad.

Sharon doviet: it can be bad, can't it?

Michael timberlake: when you fall, you know, that's a big exposed part of your body.

So that can be an issue.

You know, crowds, shopping, that's a little bit more remote, but it can be there, you know, the stores have the obligation to fix that problem, or are to address that problem or at least expect that problem.

Sharon doviet: so everybody be careful.

Maybe just internet shop.

You get the same stuff and it comes to your door.

Michael timberlake: i think that probably will happen this year with a lot of covid going on, but if you get out, make sure that you respect other people and don't assume that,
