The university of kentucky and the student newspaper... the kentucky kernel ... went before the state supreme court today..

The newspaper wants to have access to documents on a university investigation into james harwood.... a former professor accused of sexual misconduct.

The university has tried to block the newspaper's access to the documents... saying the privacy of the two victims involved could be violated..

And that the victims themselves have said they don't want the documents released.

Today... the attorney for the kentucky kernel told the justices the newspaper isn't asking for the records to identify the victims but rather... to see how the university conducted its investigation into harwood.

The university argues the newspaper has already seen that information.
