- Hi, I'm Dolly Partonand today I'll be doingthe WIRED Autocomplete Interview.[upbeat instrumental music]I don't Google myselfbecause I pretty much know what I'm up to.And if I don't know, allI gotta do is pick upa "National Inquirer" magazine.Yeah, right.Now, let's see whatthe internet is asking.First question is, isDolly Parton a soprano?You mean mafia?No, but if you're talkingabout my voice, [laughs]I would say I'm a soprano.That means very high.♪ And I'm a very high singer ♪The next question is, isDolly Parton country music?Why absolutely.I'm a country girl and Istarted out in country music.That's my favorite.Of course, I like to thinkthat I can do all sorts of music now.I've been accepted all over the world.I've had several pop records,and all sorts of styles,but I'm a country girl.So yes, I'm country music, no doubt.Next question is Dolly Partongodmother to Miley Cyrus?Well, everybody knows that.I actually say I'm the fairygodmother of Miley Cyrus.Is Dolly Parton steel magnolia?I think I'm a steel magnolia.Strong as steel my faith and pride.Like so many good strongwomen, I really relate to that.As a matter of fact, I wrote a songcalled "Eagle When SheFlies" for that movie.They didn't use it but it has lines like,"Gentle as the sweet magnolia,"strong as steel her faith and pride."She's an everlasting shoulder."She's the leaning post of life."And I'd like to think that's who I am.So I am definitely a steel magnolia.The next question is Dolly Parton married?Well, yes, I am married.I have been married for54 years this year, 2020,and I have been with myhusband for 56 years.We dated for two years before we married.So we've been together most ourlives and we're still happy.Can you believe that?Next question is who Dolly Parton?Well, I don't know.Dolly Parton's a whole lot of things.I'd like to think that I'm agood friend, a good daughter,a good aunt, a good sister.And I love my fans.So I'm just all kinds of things.I'm a girl of many colors.Who does Dolly Parton look like?Well, a clown.
[laughs]Well, I actually pattern mylook after what they callthe town tramp in my hometownwhen I was a little girl.This woman that used to walk the streetshad all this makeup andhair, high heel shoes.And I thought she was so beautiful.And everybody used to say,"Oh, she ain't nothing but trash."And I used to say, "Well,that's what I'm gonna be"when I grow up, trash."And that's kinda how I look,but I like to think I'ma little more than that.Question, who did DollyParton write songs for?Well, I always write songs for everybody.I know a lot of people outthere have all these feelingsand they're not as lucky asme to be able to have the giftof rhyme or to be able tosing songs and write songs.So I write for myself, butI write for you as well.Moving on to the next search,which is what Dolly Parton?What is Dolly Parton up to?Well, I'm up to my neck in work right now.I've got a new Christmas albumcalled "A Holly DollyChristmas" and it's starringall sorts of greatsingers and great people,like Jimmy Fallon, MichaelBuble, Miley Cyrus,Willie Nelson, Billy RayCyrus, my brother Randy,Rhonda and Darrin Vincent.Lord, I just got all kindsof people on this album,and I hope you're gonna enjoy that too.Next question, what is DollyParton's favorite color?Well, you know what?My favorite color is a no-color.It's white.I love to wear white whenI'm performing on stage.It just makes me feellike all light and airy.So it's a no-color, butI do love all colors.What is Dolly Parton's favorite food?[laughs] Well, that's easy, potatoes.Every diet I've ever fell off ofhas been because of a potato,either French fries or mashedpotatoes or baked potatoes.Potato, potato, potato.I never met a spud I didn't like.What is Dolly Parton's hair color?[laughs] Black and white.Actually my little nephew saidthat about my sister Stella.He was in school andthe teacher was askingthe different children whatcolor is your mama's hair?One said brown or red andmy little nephew said,"Black and white."And we got such a kick out of that'cause my sisters Stella's like me.Even though our hair is not black,we do have our hair blondeso it looks very dark at the roots,but I'm actually a dirty blonde.I just keep it bleached.I started bleaching it early,but I was born white headed.I was kind of a cottontop when I was little.What was Dolly Parton's first song?Well, the first song, actually,was before I started writing.It's before I could write it down.I was about five years old.I had a little cob doll that Mama made me,and I named her Tiny Tassel Top'cause she had corn tassels for hair.So I wrote a little song.♪ Little tiny tassel top ♪♪ I love you an awful lot ♪♪ Hope you never go away ♪♪ I want you to stay ♪Tada.
