Elizabeth Garrow-McDonald’s death has been ruled a homicide, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Canastota, is now a homicide investigation.

The madison county sheriff's office says the body, discovered yesterday, is 19 year old elizabeth garrow mcdonald....who was last seen alive wednesday morning.

Newschannel two's brent kearney is live here in the studio with details from the sheriff's office and onondaga county medical examiner.

Kristen madison county sheriff todd hood said this is a sad day for the area....as the onondaga county medical examiner has ruled the death of elizabeth garrow mcdonald a homicide.

The sheriff says that the onondaga county medical examiner determined the 19 year old was stabbed to death.

The autopsy report shows she suffered from multiple stab wounds.

Deputy chris jones found her body yesterday morning next to a bridge that went over the thruway in canastota.

The teen's husband, george mcdonald is now considered a person of interest in the investigation.

He was taken into custody friday....on a parole violation.

--and is in the madison county jail tonight.

The two have a child together.

Sheriff hood said after four days of searching this is a terrible outcome, but plans on making sure justice is served.

"this is a bad outcome.

We are glad that we got some closure now the investigation is going to keep moving forward so that justice can be done.

Like i said this thing is continuing.

We have people out there today we had 25 30 people out there today following up leads wecone can."

Madison county assistant districtttorney robermascari iso not listen to or post rumors about the case on social media.

-- he says its hindering their investigation.

The autopsy findings released today...are preliminary.
