Houston County Schools continue providing meals for virtual learners

Houston County parents and students expressed gratitude with the school district’s handling of virtual learning.

The building has a much smaller numbers of students this year, with only 34 percent of students returning in-person.

Parents and students say they are happy with how the school district... is handling virtual learning in houston county.

They say they are especially thankful for the district providing food for students.

On wednesdays ... houston county students and parents can pick-up ten meals a week ... at any of the eight middle schools in the district.

The houston county school nutrition payment schedule still applies.

So if you qualify for free meals... they are still free.

And the kids say... they enjoy like the meals too.

"they love them!

They have the little pizzas, they have the chicken nuggets, they love like the cereal bars and yogurt and they love the fruit.

They get a lot of fruit and they're very excited.

So it's been good so far."

Pick-up time for the meals is 10 a.m.- 11 a.m.
