Monday schools in Chico kicked off their first day of virtual classes.

Some parents say they are still getting used to it and taking it one day at a time.

Even though all schools in butte county are only online - some students and parents still stopped by this school this morning to meet the teachers who will be instructing students virtually.

They were wearing masks and following the precautions.

I spoke with with one parent who says he thinks this is the safest option right now.

"i think its the responsible thing to do to do the distancing.

I think its a hard decision to make and every area has to outweigh its risk and benefits./// its a little overwhelming trying to get everyone set up with their computers and figure out this whole distance learning thing."

As for online verse in person class - i got a mixed reaction from the parents i spoke to today.

The school district did send a letter to parents saying they know virtual classes are not ideal but they have been working hard all summer to make sure everything is organized.
