Springfield public schools is setting the stage for the return of its youngest students... but some parents are not sold.

Kezi 9 news reporter emma jerome spoke with parents and the superintendent -- about the plan to get kids back in the classroom.

By september 28 k-3 kids will have the option to be in a classroom again.

Today we learned what some of the other options are" todd hamilton: " the physical changes are obvious when you walk into the classroom you see the desks are 6 feet apart from each other... what you don't see are the sanitation stations in the hallways come september 14th -- younger kiddos could be back in the classroom.

Online schooling is available for parents who aren't comfortable with that -- but they say there is a huge lack of information about what that looks like.

Phoner no lower "their online schooling that springfield has - it's directed toward middle school and high school kids there's no information for elementary kids" some parents told me they wish there was a third option similar to the comprehensive distance learning, that fourth graders and older are doing.

They want to know how they're supposed to make an informed decision without any information.

School officials say they'll get those questions answered in the coming weeks.
