44news the six hundred per week federal bonus for job-less benefits is set to expire this coming saturday...... and as 44news reporter marisa patwa explains-- it's one of the driving forces behind a drive- up job fair -- today in evansville... with the 600- dollar federal bonus for those out of work -- set to expire soon the big concern-- among those seeking jobs-- will the bonus be extended?

"coronavirus is still getting serious and i don think everybody should be rushing back to work right now but everybody still got to take care of their families?

Officials with economic development coalition of southwest indiana say-- while job postings are now back up -- "congress needs to do do assist us is making sure they relieve the uncertainty -- that feeling of people not being able to have a position?

As for those on the job hunt -- things are looking up with over six hundred postings for retail workers and over four hundred postings for healthcare workers as of wednesday -- while job fairs are being hosted to help fill these rolls.

"it's important to stay engaged and have these job fairs because we need people and we're seeing people coming out -- so we're excited about that."

While critics say the unemployment benefits -- discouraging some from seeking work -- with the bonus expiring -- one job recruiting company -- seeing more people look for unemployment.

"we're doing a lot direct hires for professional positions but also production -- so we have seen the up tick."
