Barbershops could face new restrictions

As Butte County gets close to the watchlist, Barbershops could face new restrictions.

Today's rise in cases in butte county was lower than previous few days..

Butte county cpuld be closer to being place on the state's watchlist.

This means some businesses... like barbershops... are on the brink of facing tougher restrictions again.

Owner kandy comfort says she's not surprised but is staying optimistic.

Monday butte county public health was notified by the state that if the county's data does not imporve it will be added to the watchlist tomorrow* this means places like hair and nail salons and barbershops would have to stop all indoor operations but would be allowed to assist customers outside.

Here at eye- kandy barbershopã employees were busy cutting hair this morning while still following all guidelines.

Owner kandy comfort says despite all of this - she's looking on the bright side.

"i think we'll be fine, after being closed the first time for those 6 weeks or so our customers still came and found us afterwards and were happy to see us so i dont think it'll affect us negatively at all i think we all need to move forward and stay positive.

" comfort says even though her business would be allowed to operate outdoors - she will likely not do that because of the hot temperatures.

Instead she will shut down and spend time with her family.

If butte county gets added to the watchlist, the new restrictions would take effect on saturday.

That would be the day this barbershop closes.

Nail salons would also be impacted if we're added to the watchlist.
