Gang vandalises hospital ward in Thailand after friend dies

This is the shocking moment two rival gangs sparked panic when they began fighting in a hospital.

One of the group, Ratchapong Wassana, 22, was rushed to intensive care after he was stabbed during a brawl in Samut Prakan, central Thailand on Sunday night (July 19).

His worried friends were told by the doctor at the Vibharamchaiparkan Hospital that he had already passed away before arriving.

However, the report back from the doctor sparked anger among the deceased's friends as they accused medics of letting their friend die.

They raided the emergency room to allegedly attack the doctors and the nurses for not treating their friend.

Security guards said the thugs vandalised the emergency room, hurling valuable equipment against the walls.

They then started attacking each other.

The fight continued for several minutes before being told that the man who allegedly killed their friend had been admitted to a nearby facility.

They then rushed to the Muangsamut Hospital to try and avenge their friend.

The medical staff there moved the injured to the second floor ward to prevent the thugs reaching him.

Footage shows the rascals vandalized the emergency room before they relented and fled.

The police later went to both hospitals to collect the evidence and said they have identified suspects and will arrest them.

Police Colonel Sumet Salee said: "Initially, we knew about the original fight which lead to the stabbing and the people involved.

"We believe that the evidence from the hospital will be useful to help us to arrest the gang members.''
