D homeschool community director who says homeschooling is becoming a very real option for more and more families.

Alicia says: "a byproduct that we're seeing of parents being concerned over covid-19 is an increase in homeschooling today i spoke with a homeschooling program here in medford and they explained that they are seeing an increase of interest at the very least" today i met up with becky abrams, the director of arrows christian homeschool community.

"alicia: have you guys seen an increase in people wanting to homeschool their kids during covid?'

"becky: yeah, oh definitely" becky says she knows increases are happening throughout the state and she is personally seeing increases at arrows.

Becky says: "i have information meetings once or twice a month and those have been normally 10 to 12 people that are interested and it's like 3040 i have one tonight that's 50 people that are interested" some of which families, concern over coronavirus has been a deciding factor.

Becky says: "we actually have some people joining us this fall who were already contemplating homeschooling and this was kind of the push they needed" becky encourages families to ask questions and to not let the stigma surrounding homeschooling keep you from taking a closer look.

Becky says: "this whole stigma of you know you have to bake your own bread and have chickens and have a massive garden like i don't do any of those things so we won't people to know that you don't have to fit a certain ideology to be a homeschooler and if there is support and just get plugged into groups and start asking questions there are a lot of people that want to help" alicia says: "it's not just oregon or even just a rogue valley that seeing this we're seeing this nationwide as parents are taking a hard look at the schools approach to covid-19 and maybe reconsider
