Boxing HOF reopens

Boxing hall of fame is stepping back into the ring and reopening to the public.

Chelsea: the bell has rung and the doors are open.

The international boxing hall of fame welcomes fans back today.

For the first time since march 17, the hall of fame opens its doors to the public.

Edward brophy: in boxing there's a one minute rest.

This one was 3 1/2 months so we've rearranged everything to follow the new guidelines.

Masks are required for staff and fans, and social distancing reminders are posted.

Hand sanitizer is available for all visitors and plexi glass shields are at every admissions desk.

The hall's two buildings can be filled up to 25 percent capacity.

Along with new guidelines there is a new exhibit.

Edward brophy: we also have on display is the new exhibit a large screen tv sitting in the center of the most famous ring on display from madison square garden.

The ring that muhammad ali and joe frazier fight each other in nearly 50 years ago.

And fans can purchase tickets at a discounted cost.

Edward brophy: and were even doing it at a special rate a youth meet all of july and august.

So we're throwing the biggest punch we can by giving everybody the youth rate to be a youth again at 8:50.

There's no adult no senior rate everybody gets in at the youth rate.

And the boxing hall of fame class of 2020 would have been adopted right here this month.

Now we wait until next year with the class of 2020 and 2021 will be inducted together as the biggest induction class in its history.

Edward brophy: when we made that announcement in late march it was reasonable thing to do and of course it was.

The exciting part of all of this is that the 2020 class i've got these are excited about being honored next year with the class of 2021.

The boxing hall will be closed on fourth of july weekend and will reopen 7 days a week with its normal hours.
