Firefighters attempt nighttime rescue of cow trapped in well

A cow that accidentally fell into a 70-foot-deep well while grazing in the fields was rescued by firefighters in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Eduthanur village of Villupuram district on June 24 at night, forcing the rescuers to rely on torchlight to guide their efforts.

Video shows firefighters hauling out the cow, and two officials were also seen standing in the well, believed to have tied the ropes around the distressed animal's body.

Reportedly on noticing the cow that was fallen into the well, the owner of the cow immediately informed the Villupuram fire department, who rushed to the spot and rescued the animal.

The fire officials used torch lights in the rescue operation as there was no street light or electricity at the spot.
