Senior Spotlight: West Lafayette Track & Field

The Red Devils featured 26 combined seniors on the 2020 Boys and Girls Track & Field rosters

Consecutive years.

That's how long lane custer has been the track and field coach at west lafayette high school.

Through his near half-century with the red devils he told me that he's never seen anything like this year's circumstanses but admires his senior group for all they did for the program.

West lafayette is next up on our senior spotlight.

Relentless is the word coach custer used to describe the 26 combined seniors on his 2020 boys and girls roster.

Several red devils showed promise in the indoor season including alaina o- monn-a-day, who will throw in college at grand valley state.

Custer said several more west siders are choosing between colleges right now, and may go onto compete at the next level.

Coach shared the mark that the whole 2020 squad left on the program...and the mark they left on the coaching staff.

Lane:they just never let up and they were a joy to be around and what kids don't understand a lot is that coaches get inspiration from kids just as much as the other way around.

So this group definitely got us excited and kept us going... we can't feel sorry about ourselves about the senior year, there's other, more imot things going on with the situation and the virus.

But we wish- it woulda been nice.

There's no doubt about their abilities in school, and they're all going to be
