When students head to summer classes today at arab city schools they attend class in person-- but they'll be required to social distance.

Those blue markers you're looking at right now are letting arab high school students know where to sit.

Students are asked to sanitize their hands, take a health survey, and get their temperature taken when they arrive.

The superintendent told us so far they haven't had any issues, but they're using summer school classes as a test for when school starts back up in the fall.

John ingram, arab high school principal: "we're going to have to take precautions, they will just be on a bigger scale.

We understand that and we're taking steps now to be ready in the fall."

All summer classes are in person, but they're prepared to use online classes if someone does get sick.

The district is waiting for this friday - when the state superintendent is expected to provide guidelines on how and when school will open this fall.
