New information... the marshall county sheriff's office says they are able to solve more burglary and theft cases - thanks to the public's help on social media.
The sheriff told waay 31 news - in the last 12 months - they have been able to solve 6 crimes with the help of people giving tips on social media.
The most recent - this month - a suspect was identified within a couple of hours after surveillance video was posted to their facebook page.
Sheriff phil sims says they take every tip seriously.
Phil sims, marshall county sheriff: "it may be good, it may not be, but it's something we may need to check out.
You never know what that one small piece of information may lead to.
