The NMMC Wellness Centers are reopening their doors to the public on June 1st.

They've implemented some changes to keep members safe.

March the nmmc wellness centers at is reopening its doors to the public on monday.

Matt st.

Jean is live from the gym where employees are doing intense cleanings to get ready to let members back in.

The wellness center here in tupelo is a massive facility but for the past two months it's been completely empty.

Most gyms opened a few weeks ago.

The wellness center is a medical approved facility.

That is why workers took the extra time to ensure that they were providing their members the safest environment possible.

I'm sure the members are ready to get back into the gym, but the staff is also excited to see everyone again.

Take pkg (regina) it's going to be great, because there have been people i've saw at least five days a week for 23 years that i haven't seen for three months, so i will be very excited to see them come monday.

(track) the facilities officially closed down on march 28th.

On monday, the wellness center in tupelo as well as amory, baldwyn, pontotoc, and west point will be back open.

Members are going to notice quite the change from what they're used to.

(regina) when our members come back they will come to the front we will also do a short screening like have you been out of the country, things like that.

(track) workers switched up the gym equipment so they are abiding by cdc and state health guidelines.

(regina) we have placed our equipment 12 feet apart when they're exercising, also we are doing a check out system with our things like jump ropes balls, they are welcome to use that equipment, they will just check it out through a fitness instructor and return it back so it can be cleaned properly.

Some other changes for the wellness centers include: no guests, 30 percent capacity, no one can use cardio equipment for longer than 30 minutes and all classes are suspended.

We'll hear from another staff member who will speak towards another aspect of the reopening: fighting the poundemic.
