Here in fort wayne the fight continues for one family who believes they've been mislead.

Fox 55'sjentill neal has more about the lawsuit against the indiana department of child services and that families plea.

Jentill?

Hunter, i talked to the parents of kennedy laramore who was killed in fort wayne last year.

Her parents stepped in to try and get custody of her child.

But they got sad news this week.

When robert littlejohn stabbed kennedy laramore to death in september she left behind her three year old son ...> 04:37:30-04:37:51"we wanted to speak on behalf of our grandson and children who can't speak for themselves.

And on my daughter's request, kennedy god rest her soul that we are trying to get and we are going to get our grandson.

And grant her wishes."before her death, kennedy's family says she endured an abusive relationship which caused her to lose custody of her son.

When she did her family says it was her wish for him to be with her parents.something king has been fighting for the last two years .

04:28:32-04:28:48"i believe they caused trauma to both our grandson and us by initiating the overnight visits and our bond is even stronger and then to rip that away... we had no idea they adopted our grandson out until yesterday."they say they're among the families who allege they've been mislead by the system.

Dcs is facing a lawsuit now in which they are accused of not protecting 22,000 children.the list of allegations includes many of the chilnnecessarily sitting in foster care for years before they are reunited with their primary caretakers, are adopted, or age out of the system.04:36:25-04:36:46"i'm thinking about all of the other parents and grandparents who have babies who've just been stripped.

?tears?

It's awful who don't have the monetary means to secure an attorney.

Dcs is heartless."

I reached out to dcs for comment and left a voicemail.

No response yet, but the kings aren't giving up.

They've been told to get an attorney but say they are struggling to find one they can afford at this time.reporting live, jentill neal fox 55
